Clover Park School District’s (CPSD) Daffodil float was awarded the highest honor in
the 2009 Grand Floral Parade—the Grand Sweepstakes award!
The theme of this year's Daffodil Festival was "Swing into Spring." CPSD’s brightly colored
float featured a baseball theme, complete with popcorn and Cracker Jacks.
Titled “Swing for the Fence,” the float featured 4,000 fresh daffodils and daffodils made
from Chinet Classic White Plates. Jayme Taylor, Commuication Manager for the district
stated, "For the past three years we have used Chinet plates to create flowers for the float. We manipulate the plates into the desired shapes and then papier-mâché over them.
These durable flowers have held up through weather, years of use and abuse in storage."
Each year, the float is assembled in the district’s bus barn. It takes approximately
three weeks to assemble, but production starts long before that. Several community
members, district staff and students helped paint, papier-mâché and decorate the
float.

America’s premium disposable tableware brand, Chinet®, continues to bring innovation to the disposable tableware category by launching a new product in the Chinet® Classic White™ line. The newly launched 20-ounce Salad and Side Dish will be available in stores beginning March 2009.
“We worked with consumer feedback to develop this product,” said Julie Stoetzer, Chinet Brand Marketing Manager. “Our new Salad and Side Dish is part of the Chinet Classic White line, all of which are made of 100 percent pre-consumer recycled material. The line is also chlorine-free, microwave safe and fully biodegradable in home composting.
The Chinet Classic White Salad and Side Dish design was based on new consumer eating trends,” continued Stoetzer. “Consumers are eating more salads than they used to and are serving them when entertaining. The Chinet Salad and Side Dish is wider and shallower than traditional bowls so the salad looks better on the table and dressing can reach more of the salad contents. This new Salad and Side Dish coordinates with the rest of the Chinet Classic White line." The Chinet Classic White Salad and Side Dish will be available in stores March 2009 in packages of 20.

Everything that lasts has a foundation. Chinet has provided foundations - of life, of families, of events - a cornerstone of time spent together. Recognizing that as so much in life starts to stretch out, break, or leak, things naturally fall through the cracks. And too often we settle simply for what's there, instead of what's best.
That's why beneath every embossed Chinet logo is a belief that we're there to provide a foundation: of people, food, gatherings, and the unique purposes and meanings that bring them all together.
Chinet, be it Classic White, Casuals or Cut Crystal, provides a foundation for not just what's on the plate, but for all that goes on around it.
Our new TV campaign, which breaks on March 3, highlights people putting a personal "signature" touch to their social gatherings, informal to more formal, with the portfolio of Chinet products as the foundation and inspiration to their planning.

![]()
The Kansas City Barbeque Society, the world’s largest and most respected barbeque organization, has teamed up with Tabasco, Weber Grill Creations, Royal Oak charcoal and Chinet tableware to launch the first annual Great American BBQ Tour.
Packed with free samples, barbeque tips and demo recipes galore, the tour kicks off in Rio Rancho, N.M., at the Pork ‘n Brew BBQ Cookoff on March 28-29. The tour will visit more than 25 cities from coast to coast, including some of the country’s biggest events like the American Royal in Kansas City, Mo., the CMA Music Festival in Nashville, Tenn., and the Best of the West in Reno, Nev. The final stop of the tour is the Jack Daniel’s World Championship Invitational on Oct. 24-25 in Lynchburg, Tenn.
“The Great American BBQ Tour is our most ambitious effort yet to promote all things BBQ,” said KCBS Executive Director Carolyn Wells. “Thanks to our national sponsors, we will be able to demonstrate for average backyard grillers what the pros do on the circuit to achieve national champion style barbeque.”
Tour sponsors Tabasco and Weber Grill will be providing quality ingredients that go hand-in-hand with mouth-watering barbeque. These sponsor products include Tabasco’s new Chipotle Pepper Sauce made from select smoked red jalapeño peppers with a smooth, rich smoky flavor, and Weber Grill Creations, a full line of unique and innovative seasonings and marinade mixes that can be used on grilled steak, chicken, fish and vegetables.
Also showcased on the tour is Royal Oak charcoal and Chinet brand tableware. Royal Oak is 100 percent natural wood charcoal made from oak, hickory, maple and other hardwoods, which makes it great for searing in one-of-a-kind barbeque flavor. Serving up samples to barbeque visitors on the tour will be Chinet. Known for its classic style and durability, Chinet is the top choice for convenient and easy clean up for any barbeque occasion.
Visitors to the tour stops will enjoy live cooking demonstrations, visits with national KCBS champions, and tasty barbeque samples. For a more information about the tour, visit www.kcbs.us/tour.php.
It’s estimated that several thousand teams compete on the national KCBS circuit. KCBS, a nonprofit organization with nearly 9,000 members nationwide, has been sanctioning events and training certified barbeque judges for more than 20 years. Using an objective, blind judging process, the society sanctions nearly 300 barbeque competitions throughout the nation each year.
