Directions

Send your guests home with a blast from the past! Fashioned out of Chinet plastic cups, these DIY retro gumball machines are sure to end your party on a high note. Easily assembled and overflowing with cuteness, your guests will be talking about this parting gift for years to come.

1. Using scissors or an x-acto knife, carefully cut out a 1.75" circle from the bottom of the Chinet Red Premium Cup. This will act as the base or seat of the clear candy-filled ornament (as outlined in step 3).

2. Once the circle is cut out, paint the outside in pink craft paint. While the painted cups dry, cut out 1" long, half-oval shapes from the black cardstock. Glue the half-oval to the mouth of the cup.

3. Fill a 80mm clear ornament with as much candy or gumballs as it will hold. Once filled, place the ornament on top of the painted cup so that it sits in the cut-out hole. Make sure the ornament's hanging loop is placed upside down, into the hole. Secure the candy-filled ornament by taping its base to the inside of the cup using clear tape.

4. For a final decorative touch, tie burlap tags around the base of the candy-filled ornaments using jute twine. Now you have an adorably retro treat for your guests to take home!
