Turkey may be the main event, but it's the side dishes that truly make the Thanksgiving meal. Brussels sprouts are all the rage right now, so we're showing you the tastiest way to prepare this vegetable side dish that's guaranteed to steal the show at your Turkey Day dinner.
2 lbs. Brussels sprouts, trimmed
Red pepper flakes
1/3 c. almond nuts
Grated parmesan cheese, for topping
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees. Trim the bottoms of the Brussels sprouts and cut into halves.
Place the sprouts on a baking sheet lined with aluminum foil. Drizzle olive oil and sprinkle salt and red pepper flakes over the sprouts.
Toss so that the sprouts are covered entirely. Put in the oven and roast for approximately 20 minutes.
Remove and sprinkle almond nuts into the mixture. Place back in the oven for another 5 minutes to roast the almonds.
While the sprouts are roasting, cook the bacon in a fry pan or griddle until crispy.
Pro tip—make the bacon in advance to cut down on prep and cook time. After the bacon is fully cooked, cut into pieces and toss into the sprouts mixture.
Sprinkle parmesan cheese on top, and add salt and pepper to taste.
