Slow Cooker Lasagna

On chilly nights, make this classic lasagna in a slow cooker for an easy dinner the whole family will love.

1 lb. Italian sausage
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. pepper
1 onion, chopped
1 tsp. Italian seasoning
2 tbsp. parsley
2 tsp. garlic powder
1 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
1, 6-oz. can tomato paste
1, 29-oz. can tomato sauce
2 tbsp. granulated sugar
1 1/4 cup water
1, 8-oz. package lasagna noodles, uncooked
4 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
1 1/2 cup cottage cheese
1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese


In a large skillet, brown Italian sausage and onion over medium heat. Add salt, pepper, Italian seasoning, parsley garlic powder, Worcestershire sauce, tomato paste, tomato sauce, sugar and water. Stir and simmer for 15-20 minutes.

Spread a fourth of the meat sauce into the bottom of the slow cooker. Arrange a third of the noodles over the sauce. Feel free to break the noodles in order to fit. Combine the mozzarella, cottage cheese and parmesan cheese, and spoon over the noodles. Repeat layers until you reach the top. Finish by sprinkling remaining meat sauce and mozzarella cheese over the last layer. Cook on high for 3-4 hours or until the noodles are tender.
