Football and entertaining: those are two things I'm passionate about.  I love getting together with friends and family to watch football on the weekends. There is nothing quite like yelling at the TV and cheering on your favorite team with good food and friends.  Football playoffs are in full swing and it's time to start planning for the big game. Make prepping for the big game as much fun as the actual event itself with this fun and creative game day potato bar.

Over 115 million people will tune in to watch the showdown between the top-ranked teams in February.  And chances are that whether your favorite team makes it to the big game or not, you'll want to tune in to watch the game, laugh at the commercials and rock out to the halftime show. I am going to help you get ready for the big game with these stress-free, easy ideas for food, decor and more.

I love entertaining, but I hate being stuck in the kitchen cooking or cleaning and missing out on all the fun.  To me, life is better when we get together and hang out with friends and family. When I entertain, I want to be a part of the action, not behind the scenes.  This is why I love this potato bar for a game day party.  You can prepare everything ahead of time, and with Chinet® Classic White products you can make the prep and cleanup even easier!

Start by setting up a designated area for your potato bar.  I used black chalkboard bulletin paper as a backdrop for my potato bar.  Years ago I made a football field table runner and I love using that on the table at our football parties.  I made a chalkboard banner for the front of the table and added some "penalty flag" napkins for a pop of color.

Everybody loves a fun DIY food station.  At this football-themed potato bar, guests can customize their potatoes with their favorite ingredients and flavors. I filled Chinet® Cut Crystal® cups with popular potato toppings.  I added 'x' and 'o' clothespins to tie into the playbook backdrop.

The  Chinet® Chip & Dip Party Trays aren't just good for chips and dip.  I filled the tray with some of our favorite potato toppings like sour cream, guacamole, chili and moist brisket.  Not only does the presentation look nice, the cleanup is a breeze!

Encourage guests to step up to the potato bar and "style your spud" with all of the creative toppings. I even used the Chinet Classic White dessert square plates to create simple menu suggestions for our potato bar.  This was a fun way to encourage guests to try something new and get creative with their potatoes.

Speaking of being creative, you can use the Chinet Classic White products to create some fun decor for your football-themed party, too.  I believe that the little details are what make things extraordinary.  By adding a few festive decorations to your potato bar, you can turn an ordinary table full of food into something fun and extraordinary.  I filled a small metal bucket with black crinkle paper and added a DIY referee jersey made with a Chinet Classic White plate and black washi tape. I stuck in a few other black and white game day items and added a yellow "penalty flag" napkin for color.

This football-themed party is all about the spuds, but I wanted to add something guests could snack on throughout the game, too.  Popcorn is always a game day favorite, but this buffalo ranch popcorn will definitely score big with your guests.  I added chalkboard labels with football phrases to Chinet Cut Crystal cups to customize them. This bold snack is the perfect grab-and-go option so guests don't miss a moment of the big game.
