One of my family’s favorite traditions is our back-to-school breakfast. It's a simple way to turn an otherwise ordinary morning into an extraordinary affair, and it helps ease back to school jitters. This year, I used Chinet® Classic White dinner plates to create a place setting that has all the "write" stuff.

These super easy and fun DIY notebook paper plates and pencil waffles are a great way to start the school year off right. I love making things extra special for my kids, but I'm a firm believer in simplicity too. That's why this project is perfect. It uses items I already have, and it takes less than 15 minutes to create.

What You Will Need:

Step 1: Take a ruler and place it horizontally across the Chinet Classic White dinner plate. Use the blue colored pencil to carefully draw lines across the paper plate. Continue down the plate until it looks like a piece of lined notebook paper.

Step 2: Now take the ruler and place it vertically on the left side of the plate. Use the red colored pencil to draw a line down the edge.

Step 3: Now that you have your notebook paper plate, it's time to make breakfast. Toast the frozen waffles, and use the knife to trim the edges of the waffle off to make a rectangle.

Step 4: Use one of the trimmed pieces of the waffle to cut a triangle shape for the bottom of your pencil.

Step 5: Spread peanut butter on the bottom of the cut pencil piece.

Step 6: Add a raisin to the bottom of the peanut butter covered section.

Step 7: Use the dried pineapple and raspberries to create the top part of the pencil.

Step 8: Put a Chinet Cut Crystal dessert plate on top of your DIY notebook paper plate, and carefully place the waffle pencil on top. Serve with orange juice for a fun and special back to school breakfast.
