This year, we’re looking for more reasons to celebrate with family and friends. We’re planning informal parties around quirky holidays as an excuse to get together and enjoy time with our loved ones. First up? Open That Bottle Night.
Open That Bottle Night happens on the last Saturday in February (February 25th in 2017). It was created as a worldwide celebration of family and friends, as well as an excuse to open that special bottle of wine or champagne that’s been sitting on the shelf for a while.
We love the idea of kicking off our year of quirky celebrations with a night that’s all about enjoying the company of friends and family. Here are some tips for hosting your own Open That Bottle Night.
Ask guests to bring their own bottle. This way, you can enjoy tasting all kinds of special wines throughout the evening. And chances are, someone’s bottle may have already gone bad, so it will be nice to have some backups.
Have everyone share a story about the wine they brought. Where did they get it? When? Why have they been saving it so long? Guests will have fun swapping stories in addition to bottles.
Serve foods that pair well with wine. Enhance the experience of tasting everyone’s prized wines by serving finger foods that will make the tasting even better. Think grapes, meats, cheeses, olives, maybe even fondue! This Mediterranean bruschetta recipe would make an excellent choice.
Plan for minimal cleanup. Give yourself time to enjoy the party—this time with family and friends is about the conversations, not the presentation. Treat yourself to some disposable tableware that you can sweep into the trash can at the end of the night. Use this Chinet® Chip & Dip Party Tray to organize your meat and cheese spread.
You’re invited to join us in finding more excuses to celebrate this year. Use #MyChinetParty on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter to share your unique ideas for getting together. Now get ready to open that bottle!
