Create a Star-Spangled Place Setting

By: Lindi Haws of Love The Day

4th of July is days away! Are you ready? How do you spend your 4th? I talked a little about my 4th of July traditions in this post, but I wanted to reiterate how much I LOVE this holiday. My family goes ALL OUT. We always have such a great time together and love creating memories surrounding everything stars and stripes.

This year my daughters and I are going to make these DIY patriotic cups and plates for our dessert table. We are using the Chinet® Cut Crystal® stemless wine glasses and Chinet Cut Crystal 10’ dinner plates to make them. Follow along as I show you how to make them!

What You Will Need:

  • Chinet Cut Crystal stemless wine glasses
  • Chinet Cut Crystal 10’ dinner plates
  • Red tissue paper
  • Royal blue tissue paper
  • Navy blue tissue paper
  • Mod Podge®
  • Fiskars star punch
  • Paint brush

Step 1: Take your red and blue tissue papers and fold into fourths. Use the star punch to make handfuls of mini tissue paper stars.

Step 2: Using your paint brush, paint the bottom third of your Chinet Cut Crystal stemless wine glass with Mod Podge.

Step 3: Place the stars on the Mod Podge-covered glass and let dry.

Step 4: Once the cup is dry, coat the stars and cup once again with another layer of Mod Podge.

Place your DIY patriotic cups and plates on your dessert table and enjoy! What do you do for the 4th of July? Share your holiday craft ideas and entertaining tips with us on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter using #MyChinetParty.
