You’ve been gifting dad neckties for years. Or maybe you haven’t. Either way, something tells us he’s going to like this one because it pairs especially well with BBQ, burgers, baked beans and well, pretty much anything else that could possibly come off a grill top. Plus, all you need for this Father’s Day craft idea is a square Chinet® Classic White™ Napkin.
Step 1: Start with your square napkin completely unfolded. Fold the right corner down toward you diagonally, placing it about 1/3 of the way past the center of the napkin.
Step 2: Repeat with the left corner, pressing it down on the fold you just created in the previous step.
Step 3: Fold the right side of the napkin in toward the center, pressing down and folding just past the center line.
Step 4: Repeat on the left side. You should now have a shape representing that of a necktie.
Step 5: Fold the top half of the “tie” down and to the right.
Step 6: Turn the tie over so that it’s facing upward. Fold the flap on the left side across the front of the tie.
Step 7: Turn the tie back over so it’s facing downward again. Now, fold the flap on the right across the back of the tie. Fold any excess napkin down along the back of the tie so that it is hidden when you turn it over (next step).
Step 8: Turn the tie back over, facing upward.
And there you have it! Dad’s new favorite necktie, built to withstand even the heartiest, sauciest, messiest of BBQ dishes.
