Make Your Own Metallic Tablescape for Thanksgiving

By: Kelsey Graves of We Heart Parties

Thanksgiving is extra special for me this year. It’s the first year that I am hosting my family for Thanksgiving dinner, and on top of that, we have a lot to be thankful for. Two new baby girls will have joined the family by Thanksgiving - my first niece and my baby girl (kid number 3 for us).

I wanted my first Thanksgiving table to reflect the gratefulness I’m feeling this year. Of course, I also wanted it to be really pretty. I used metallics as a focal point and I love how it came together.

A woven gold metallic tablecloth and gold sequined table runner set the stage for my metallic Thanksgiving tablescape. For the centerpiece, I filled a long wood bowl with mini metallic pumpkins, white pumpkins with gold stems, glittered pinecones and a few ears of Indian corn. I allowed the centerpiece decorations to spill out down the center of the table for a more dramatic feel.

When my family members get to the table, I want them to immediately be filled with thankfulness of our wonderful memories from the year. Each place setting contains a photo of a moment we can reminisce about and be grateful for. These photo napkin folds are great conversation starters and are an easy way to remember all that we have to be thankful for.

To make the photo memory napkins, I folded Chinet® Classic White™ napkins into squares. I wrapped a sheer orange ribbon around the folded napkin and sealed it with a little double-sided tape on the back to hold it in place. I printed small black and white square photos (about 2 inches x 2 inches) of the happiest memories from the previous year, and taped one to each place setting.

Since we will have two new babies joining us this Thanksgiving, I wanted cleanup to be a breeze. Luckily I didn’t have to sacrifice style by using disposable Chinet Classic White dinner plates, Chinet® Cut Crystal® 14 oz. cups for ice water, and Chinet Cut Crystal cutlery.

The Chinet Cut Crystal stemless wine glasses were perfect for our signature Thanksgiving cocktail.

I highly recommend serving these yummy Sparkling Apple Cider cocktails at your Thanksgiving get-together.

Sparkling Apple Cider Cocktail
Serves one cocktail.

  • 2 oz. apple-infused whiskey liqueur
  • 2 oz. apple cider
  • Chilled champagne
  • Apple slices for garnish
  • Cinnamon for rim

    1. For the rim, pour a little liqueur in a dish. In a different dish, sprinkle a generous amount of cinnamon. Turn a Chinet Cut Crystal stemless wine glass upside down and coat the rim first in the liqueur, and then in the cinnamon. Let the rim dry for a minute.
    2. Fill the stemless wine glass halfway with crushed ice.
    3. Pour apple-infused whiskey and apple cider on top of ice.
    4. Top with champagne and gently stir with a spoon.
    5. Garnish with a few thin apple slices.
