This year, amp up your holiday entertaining with a festive and colorful “Making Spirits Bright” holiday bar cart. The holidays are a busy time of year for everyone and we often get caught up in the hustle and bustle of the season. It's time to slow down, relax and savor the moments with friends and family. Whether you are planning a mix and mingle cocktail party or hosting the annual “favorite things” party for friends, deck out your bar cart for holiday entertaining with these stylish and functional tips.
The holidays are an especially busy time of year for me, but they are also my favorite time of year to entertain family and friends. Coordinating schedules for holiday parties can be challenging, so a few years ago I decided to host an open house style Jingle and Mingle party one evening, where friends could come and go as their schedule allowed. It's one of my favorite, and easiest ways to entertain. This year we are making spirits bright with a colorful twist on the traditional holiday color palette and this stylish bar cart.
I love having a dedicated space where guests can refresh their beverages and grab little bites or treats to eat. I set up my bar cart in my living room so I can keep the guests and conversation flowing, instead of having everyone crowded around the kitchen bar. I used my Cricut machine to cut out gold vinyl polka dots which I put all over the wall. I also cut out a colorful "Making Spirits Bright" quote and placed it inside a big frame which I hung on the wall. I love using vinyl because you can quickly transform an ordinary space into an extraordinary one. Plus, it's temporary so you can change it as often as you like!
I used my DIY metallic bar cart to create a festive and practical drink station for our holiday parties. Make sure you stock your bar cart with all the essentials, and make it easy for guests to serve themselves. In addition to chilled bottles of wine and sparkling rosé, I filled Chinet® Cut Crystal® stemless wine glasses with cranberries and a sprig of rosemary. For a fun holiday twist, I pre-made a signature grapefruit cranberry cocktail and put it in plastic ornaments. Then simply stack them on top of the garnished stemless wine glasses for an easy, festive self-serve option for guests.
Don't think of your bar cart as just a drink station! You can include small plates of cheese and crackers, mini appetizers and mini desserts. Chinet® Classic White™ appetizer and dessert plates are a must for holiday entertaining – they are designed to not bend, fold or leak, which makes them perfect for everything from crackers and dip to cheesecake.
This year, vow to slow down and enjoy the holidays stress-free. I hope this colorful “Making Spirits Bright” bar cart inspires you to celebrate the season and create extraordinary memories with your loved ones! Be sure to stop by Giggles Galore for more holiday inspiration and entertaining tips.
