Party in the USA Tablescape

By: Kelsey Graves of We Heart Parties

Miley Cyrus said it best in her hit song… “It’s a party in the U.S.A.” This 4th of July get your friends and family together for a star-spangled celebration of America.

The wow-factor at this party is definitely the red, white and blue letter balloon backdrop. Currently, 16-inch letter balloons only come in silver and gold. To get this patriotic look, simply spray paint the balloons. Inflate all of your balloons and tape the little hanging tabs back with clear tape. Next, spray paint them in batches (for example, I did all of the red balloons first). I only sprayed one side because I knew they would be up against a wall. These letter balloons are extremely lightweight, making them easy to tape to the wall.

Once you’ve got your party-ready backdrop, add food, treats, and plenty of Chinet® Classic White disposable plates and napkins, and you are ready to celebrate!

Set up a “slider bar” full of mini burgers (grill a bunch of burgers before the party, or buy premade sliders from the frozen foods section at the grocery if your short on time) and all the toppings. I loved using the Chinet Chip & Dip Party Tray to serve all the slider toppings. It’s very sturdy and leak resistant, making it easy to move from the kitchen to the party table. Be sure to set out lots of strong Classic White All Occasion plates and Classic White napkins to catch the drips as guests enjoy their sliders!

By far the favorite treat at our “Party in the USA” was the 4th of July fireworks bark. This white chocolate goodness is infused with Pop Rocks making it so fun to eat—for the kids and adults alike!

4th of July Fireworks Bark
Serves: 12

  • 2 cups white chocolate chips
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 3 small packets (0.33 oz) red Pop Rocks
  • 3 small packets (0.33 oz) blue Pop Rocks

Line a small baking pan with parchment paper. Place white chocolate chips in microwave-safe bowl. Drizzle oil over chocolate chips (this will keep the consistency smooth). Microwave on high for 30 seconds. Stir. Continue microwaving in 10-second intervals, stirring in between until the chocolate is smooth. Be sure to not overheat the mixture!

Pour the white chocolate mixture onto the parchment-covered baking pan and spread it evenly with a spatula. Sprinkle Pop Rocks on top while the chocolate is still hot. Set aside to cool for at least two hours. Once cooled, break into pieces and serve with appetizer plates.

Another festive treat at our party was frosted 4th of July brownie bites. Simply frost brownies or brownie bites with frosting from a spray can and decorate with Pop Rocks or red and blue sprinkles. Serve with appetizer plates so guests can grab a few treats and easily move around the party.

We also served 4th of July Rice Krispies Treats and plenty of water in classy Chinet®Cut Crystal® tumblers.

Complete the party with some red, white, and blue decorations—and don’t forget the party sunglasses.
