Things are heating up this summer, so why not cool off with a refreshing beverage from a fun, make-your-own patriotic Italian soda bar? This red, white and blue drink station is perfect for any summer celebration, from backyard BBQs to pool parties. Guests young and old will enjoy sipping on this fruity drink; it’s sure to be an instant hit at your next summer BBQ!

I have a passion for entertaining all year long, but I particularly love summer entertaining. During the warm summer months, I love to fire up the grill and invite friends over for casual backyard BBQs, especially on the 4th of July. One of my favorite tips for outdoor entertaining is to set up easy-to-access stations where guests can help themselves to whatever they need. When it comes to parties, I’m a big fan of any type of bar, from my hot dog bar to a refreshing lemonade bar, but I think this patriotic Italian soda bar is so much fun that it’s quickly becoming my favorite! Plus, these fruit drinks are the perfect complement to the simple summer foods we all know and love.

If you are looking for a fun way to serve drinks at your next summer BBQ or 4th of July celebration, try having an Italian soda bar. This is an easy-to-create focal point for your party, and everyone will love it!

What You Will Need for Your Italian Soda Bar:

  • Ice cubes
  • A variety of flavored syrups (I used Torani) *fruity flavors are best
  • Carbonated water (club soda or sparkling water)
  • Half and half cream
  • Whipped cream
  • Chinet® Cut Crystal® 14 oz. cups
  • Paper straws
  • Pumps or shot glasses
  • Fresh fruit

Now on to the fun part—making your own Italian soda! Start by setting up a designated drink station with all of your supplies. I used a vintage desk to set out all the ingredients and a vintage wagon as a cooler for the club sodas and other drinks (I had a cooler of ice off to the side with ice for the drinks). Print out the patriotic-themed directions so guests will know how to make their own Italian soda, and you’re all set!

Step 1: Fill a Chinet Cut Crystal 14 oz. cup halfway with ice.

Step 2: Add 1-2 oz. of flavored syrup (about 4 pumps).

Step 3: Fill cup with club soda or sparkling water.

Step 4: Add a splash of half and half cream.

Step 5: Top with whipped cream and fresh fruit.

Step 6: Stir with a fun paper straw and enjoy!

Some of our favorite flavor combinations include:

  • Strawberries & Cream (2 pumps strawberry + 2 pumps vanilla)
  • Cherry Cream Soda (2 pumps cherry + 2 pumps vanilla)
  • Peaches & Cream (2 pumps peach + 2 pumps vanilla)
  • Tiger’s Blood (2 pumps strawberry + 2 pumps coconut)
  • Red, White & Blue Italian Soda (2 pumps blue raspberry + 2 pumps strawberry)

Your summer BBQ is sure to be a hit when you create this festive Italian soda bar! And don’t forget to stock up on all your summer entertaining essentials with the Chinet Cut Crystal collection.
