Waffle Iron Pizzas

Preparing waffle iron pizza

This recipe takes two beloved classics to create a gooey and undeniably delectable concoction. Instead of making dough from scratch, canned biscuits lathered with oregano-garlic butter serve as the base. From there, pizza toppings like mozzarella and pepperoni enter the scene to create our waffle iron pizza. To avoid excessive mess and possibly a ruined waffle maker, sauce is served on the side for dipping.

Try it with a twist! While you may immediately think savory when it comes to pizza, these waffle iron pizzas are the perfect vessel for a sweet treat—s’mores anyone?

Ingredients

Steps

  • 1

Microwave butter in a small bowl for 20-30 seconds until melted. Stir in garlic powder and ½ teaspoon of oregano and set aside.

  • 2

Spray waffle maker with baking spray.

  • 3

Roll the biscuits out to a size just shy of the size of the waffle maker. Brush one side of a biscuit with garlic butter, and place the biscuit, garlic butter side down, into a quadrant of the waffle maker. Sprinkle ¼ cup of shredded mozzarella on top, then scatter five pepperonis over the cheese.

  • 4

Sprinkle another ¼ cup of shredded mozzarella over the pepperoni, then place another flattened biscuit directly on top of the last layer of cheese. Brush with garlic butter.

  • 5

Cook according to the waffle maker instructions (typically 4-5 minutes).

  • 6

Serve with pizza sauce for dipping.
