    Line an 8×9-inch pan with aluminum foil and coat with cooking spray.

    Layer the sliced bread in 3 rows of 8, slightly overlapping. Set aside.

    Melt butter and allow to cool slightly before adding it to a large mixing bowl.

    To the butter, add eggs, milk, syrup, molasses, spices, and salt. Whisk to combine.

    Slowly pour the mixture over the bread, making sure to evenly coat each slice.

    Cover pan with foil and store in refrigerator overnight.

    In the morning, preheat the oven to 350. Remove the pan from the refrigerator while the oven preheats.

    Carefully spoon pooled liquid at the bottom of the pan over the bread, especially any places that look dry.
