Shiitake Mushroom Gravy

Move over meat gravy. There’s a new meatless recipe in town.

    Heat olive oil in large skillet on medium-high heat.

    Add mushrooms and start stirring. Add onions. Add thyme and basil. Turn heat down to medium.

    After the onions and mushrooms start cooking, turn heat down to low.

  • 4

    Slowly add in flour a spoonful at a time.

  • 5

    Add veggie paste and miso to cup of hot water. Stir, then slowly add to skillet.

  • 6

    Add flour and continue stirring until the gravy is the consistency you want.

    Serve over mashed potatoes or rice or other grains.
